Hydration- How Much Is Too Much?

How Much Water Is Too Much Water?

 

It takes about 6 litres of water to kill a 165-pound person, according to a YouTube video recently released by the American Chemistry Society. Surprisingly, death by water, or water intoxication as it’s officially known, happens quite a lot. ( reference: )

 

Obviously certain things need to be taken into account, the main one being the size of the individual drinking the water and how fast you process water and your exercise levels.

 

I personally have never heard of anyone dying in this way. I try and drink about ( minimum) 3 litres of water a day. I feel energetic and hydrated on 3 litres a day. I once drank 10 litres of water a day water loading for a bodybuilding show but the only down side was going to the loo every 5 minutes, I didn’t die!
